i purchased maruti swift from varun motors banjara hills hyderabad and the sales man was mr. pramod kumar.first of all he never used to be available inspite of promising the time and further he will tell something about the car and sometime later quite opposite version for example i was told that the colour i wish to have is not available and when iwanted to go to other show room he informed that the colour is available. any way i made the mistake of purchasing the car on 29-10-2008 at 7.00 PM and they told me that everything is checked and perfactly fine.i was driving back and other person who happened to pass my car told me that something is wrong with the tyres, i stopped and found that all sixteen bolts of four tyres are loose. i infomed Mr. Promod and his team leader and they promised to send technical superviser and team leader on 30-10-2008 at 4.00 PM to my house to inspect the car. i again reminded Mr Promod on 30-10-2008 at 10.00 AM, at 2.00PM AND HE PROMISED THAT AT 4.00 PM persons will come. When i contacted at 4.0 PM he told me that they will come at 5.30 PM but nobody came and when i contacted at 7.00 PM he told me that they will come on 31-10-2008.i tried to contact the head of varun motors banjara hills but i was made to speak three different persons and each one of them told me i am going to speak to the head but finally Mr. Krishna spoke to me and the way he was talking it gave me the impression that this kind of things are normal there. i request that the car should be checked completely immediately.

does prado cost less than 4 lakh? with hardly any engine noise, good suspension, great milage, no rattling, smooth car, great AC traveling 300 km in a spark is not a bad idea.

I have some very similar observations. I was looking forward to this car but i must say i was disappointed to see it from inside.
Few things i didn’t like.
0. The colours in which spark is available are simply said “pathetic”. They have used that absurd green color for launching the car as well. I have no personal hatred for the green color but this one is just not pleasing to the eye.
1. The dashboard: This could have been a lot better. The co-driver’s side dahsboard is very curvy and you can’t keep anything there as it will simply fall off.
2. Common right and left drive: I think GM tried to be a bit smart here and
this might turn off atleast some prospective customers. What they have done is that with minimal changes to the steering and the front panel controls they can make right hand and left hand driven cars. The negative is that the wiper and side indicators are on the opposite sides. Like if you drive in India you would expect the indicator to be on right and wiper on left. Here it is opposite. Also the speedometer is in the center. So if you are mom is siiting in the car and she peeps in the speedometer u better slow down !!!
3. The backseat: in the LT version there is a 60:40 divide. Though a good addition and unique in this segment the, th dividor is irritating if sit on top of it. So with 3 people in the backseat one will defintely feel the “level difference”. Good idea, bad implementation

you have to be crazy to compare swift and spark…the bottom version of swift has the same power ,torque and mileage stats as the top end..and is much better than the top end variant of the spark…besides also think of the drive pleasure ,handling,pick up and the beauty of the swift..

A good car it seems. It gives 63 bhp which is given by its 1100 cc competitors….thats is good. Looks good. Has AIRBAGS options too in higher variants.

what is tis funny arguement….you should try and compare spark with santro and may be wagon r or estillo !!!there is no comparison between the swift and …well….anything in its class which itself is not very wide….swift is the best car the world has seen in sometime and comparing all parameters it is the best value for money..i own a swift and took a test ride of spark the other day…..i cannot begin to imagine to compare the two…they clearly are ifferent class..its loke comparing the swift with pajero or lancer!!!

Hey there!
I was actually planning to get U-VA, over all the rest, Spark, Swift, Getz, Zen Estilo & wat not. The thing is, I’m reading all these mixed reviews about the car. Price, power…(hope there’s not anything left to add!)
My only other option was Getz. I’m not even going to look at Swift cause I just dont dig it. I havent test driven both U-VA or Getz. Am thoroughly confused now that I’m effectively befuddled. Care to shed a light?
Btw, I stay in Sikkim so REALLY concerned about the power bit of U-VA. It’ll only be the base model for me in both options.

I am so happy to listen the announcement regarding the lauch of new Spark which is new version of Matiz. I am driving Matiz since 2002 and so fond of this model that no other model in the country look so attractive that Matiz. What kind of nonsense are we discussing ?? Comparing a 1 litre engine with a 1.3 litre ?? and a next generation Swift with an upgraded version of a car which once rocked india (Matiz) .. i had a matiz and i have a swift also .. Well if someone is planning to buy a car please go for a SWIFT .. the only benefit that SPARK will give u is a better mileage because of a small engine.. Apart from that SWIFT is too good to be compared with anything GM can produce.. It would injust to compare both these cars as they belong in two different segments.. they have different gear ratios , different torque and bhp , and different features to offer.. all in all if you dont care much about the mileage (12kpl in case SWIFT) then u know which one to buy.. As of now nothing compares to SWIFT .. Maruti has done it again.. Go to the respective web sites and check their specification.
Swift has many advanced features at a very attractive price.. we were planning to buy a second one and you can talk the dealers into a good deal these days .. Cheers .. Ride Swiftly Ride Safely..

I’ve completed 20000 Kms with my Swift with an average of 11 KMPL. Its quite a fun to drive this car, handling is too good.
The car build quality is poor, it rattles a lot. Many time i dont feel like driving a B+ segment car.
The Maruti dealer service is very pathetic, i dont understand how they get these excellence awards from Maruti. I think Maruti should wake up now and should seriously think about delivering quality products & service to Indian customers.

I own a matiz April 200 model. The car has run trouble free for all these years. I have not replaced a single bulb in this car since its purchase. the only replacement is the silencer which gets worn out in due course of time. Definitely not comparable to swift since both ar in seperate class. But in its class the matiz is the best.

Hi, I m an engineer working in UK, would like to go for tata indigo marina when I m back in India for vacation in about 4 months. however there are many option in market but the reason I chose to go for tata is to buy something made in India by Indians to keep the attitude upright to invest in our own Indian organisations, but looking at the responses of the customers it seems tata motors are least bother what their customers are thinking. why it is so that they cannot keep good attitude and encourage people to invest in all Indian products like what the Englishmen are doing here they are very proud of their people and country and when it comes to Indian we don’t even respect our own people, I request tata motors to please improve the service for the customers which will boost the tata’s economy and India’s as well nevertheless the approach may be just a drop in the ocean but the cumulative effect will fetch a lot.

i have driven the swift

i have driven the swift so far having clocked 64000km mostly all over india .its a great handler and has good pick but the seats need drastic improvement so does the ride quality.i drive mostly mumbai goa .once i hit a dog at 120 km and the bumper and headlight disintergrated.i have touched 197km in the car on the mum pune expressway.i also have fitted a k&n intake which i feel brings out the most in the 1.3cc eng.there are also xnon headlights which look realy good.i fitted a sparco steering which i love the feel off .next i plan to remap the chip&fit sparco seats.i have driven the car in the sands of rajasthan and the himalayas at 12000ft.its a pretty reliable car .

The Swift is really stunning. But what i dont digest is the mileage. Suzuki should do something on this count. Also the back of the car needs restyling, it looks weird. The front of the car is amazing. Once the mileage and the back are improved coupled with some reduction in price, there will be hell a lot of takers for this machine from Maruti.

I am totally satisfied except for the fuel economy. Performance is awesome!I have clocked 160kmph and I was able to rev past some bigger sedans!!! Till date, I have not had any problems, except the Power Window switch falling off!I love the interiors, though I am not fully satisfied with the exteriors!The left mirror is in a bit awkward postion, but I go used to it.I would have loved, if they had provided the option for tires fitted with the Zxis.I am pretty comfortable with the driver position as well as the driver view, except for the A-Pillar. I hav done 2800kms till now. Hope the fuel prices aren’t hiked. That would make me think about a Common Rail Diesel engined car!

Its a great car,great looks on the outside, but budgeting on the plastics especially on the side panels and the wipers really suck. And there's this big void
, there's no music system!!!!!That was hardly expected of a car with these features. I booked the ZXI as soon as the news came out and i expected a music
system with surround matching the other features. The after sales is bad too, backed up with Maruti's strict injunction against any offers!!! To summarise i
feels its great engineering levelled by really bad management.Needless to say that would drive a lot of the crowd its intended for, away.

Folks, I test drove Maruti's Swift last week (May'05). I found the car to be bloated and wondered where all the space had gone. It seems the Doors have been
bloated to probably make the car safer. The glove box seems cramped when compared to Alto's. The boot is big but we don't get a single level surface upon
folding the rear seat. I have much more to share with someone else who too has test driven Swift - looking fwd to responses.
